How To Change Screen Size (Resolution) In Windows

Many users ask us how they can adjust the screen size within Windows. Microsoft and other refer to the screen’s “size” as screen resolution. You can adjust this setting within Windows XP by:
1. Right-clicking an empty portion of the Windows desktop.
2. Selecting Properties from the pop-up menu.
3. Clicking the Settings tab.
4. Adjusting the slider bar within the Screen Resolution section. Note that sliding the bar to the “More” side on the right makes items smaller (but fits more information on the screen). Sliding the bar to the “Less” option on the left side makes items larger (but fits less information on the screen. For 17″ monitors, the typical display setting is 1024×768.
5. Clicking OK.
Windows Vista users can change screen resolution by:
1. Right-clicking an empty portion of the Windows desktop.
2. Selecting Personalize from the resulting menu.
3. Clicking Display Settings.
4. Adjusting the Resolution slider bar.
5. Clicking OK.
