Dial-A-Fix Solves Windows XP Update Issues

Several Louisville clients have experienced Windows Update errors following installation of Service Pack 3. First SP3 installs, then it completes without error. But upon rebooting many Windows systems will no longer download or install updates.

After much research (and trial and error), many IT professionals recommend a fix: Dial-A-Fix.

Dial-A-Fix repairs such Windows problems as corrupted updates and patch errors, SSL, HTTPS and other encryption issues and even ActiveX failures (common with Internet Explorer, unfortunately). The tool is meant for power users, but many will find it fairly easy to use.

If you encounter issues with Windows Updates following Windows XP Service Pack 3 installation, consider giving it a try. Dial-A-Fix has worked well in my experience, so well I’m adding it to my tool kit.

Note, Dial-A-Fix is NOT yet Vista ready, however.
